Information/Buying Miniature Goats

Buying Miniature Goats

When considering if Miniature Goats are for your family here are the essentials to consider before you inquire.

Have you got the following?

Shelter

The shelter should protect the goats from harsh weather conditions, such as cold, rain, and wind, as well as from predators. It should also provide enough space for the goats to move around and lie down comfortably.

Good Fencing

Fences should be around 1-1.2m in height and be able to keep goats in and predators out.

Miniature goats tend to go under rather than over a fence so tensioned wires on top and bottom is best.

Companionship

Goats are herd animals and need at least one other goat friend.

Long term commitment goats could live around 10-15 years, if they properly cared for.

PIC Number

You will need a PIC number for your property (Property Identification Code) before you have goats on your property, if you live in a more residential or built-up area you will need to check with your local Council if you are able to have livestock on your property.

Now you have the above ready or in process, are you looking for pets?
